MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAMS

SIXTH GRADE

Sixth Grade is the important initiation grade as students move from Elementary School to Middle School. We welcome all Sixth Graders at a Bible Mass held in early September. This year can be a challenging and exploratory time in a student’s educational journey academically, spiritually, socially, and physically. The students move independently to their classes on a 45-minute schedule. Electives are chosen at the start of the year and may include Band, Media Publications, STEM, Athletic Training, Health, Ukulele, and various others. Exposure to technology happens in several formats from using tablets in class to playing learning games on the interactive white boards. There is a mobile laptop cart for student access as well as availability in the computer lab. Middle School has many events that are separate from the Elementary School such as Service Projects, Chili Cook-off, MS Field Day, MS Go Texan Day, Living Stations, dances, Lightshine, and Academic Showcase. School students can take part on Athletic teams and are required to maintain their academic standing to play.

EIGHTH GRADE

Eighth Grade is a special experience culminating in a Graduation Mass in May. We encourage the Eighth Graders to take leadership roles around the campus including their extracurricular groups and sports teams. During this exciting year of their lives, our faculty endeavors to prepare the students to prosper in the high school of their choice. All Eighth Graders participate in the ISEE Prep course in the fall semester to ensure success on the entrance test required for private high schools. Students are supported through the high school and scholarship application process.
