MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAMS

SIXTH GRADE

Sixth Grade is the important initiation grade as students move from Elementary School to Middle School. We welcome all Sixth Graders at a Bible Mass held in early September. This year can be a challenging and exploratory time in a student’s educational journey academically, spiritually, socially, and physically. The students move independently to their classes on a 45-minute schedule. Electives are chosen at the start of the year and may include Band, Media Publications, STEM, Speech, Musical Performance and others. Exposure to technology occurs in several formats from using Chromebooks in class to playing learning games on interactive white boards. Each Middle School student is assigned a Chromebook. Middle School holds many events that are separate from the Elementary School such as Service Projects, Chili Cook-off, MS Field Day, MS Go Texan Day, Living Stations, Middle School dances, Lightshine, and Academic Showcase. Middle School students are offered a wide variety of Athletics to participate in and are required to maintain their academic standing in order to play.

EIGHTH GRADE

Eighth Grade is a special year culminating in a Graduation Mass in May. We encourage our Eighth Graders to take on leadership roles around the campus including in their extracurricular groups and Athletic teams. During this exciting year, our faculty endeavors to prepare our students to prosper in the high schools of their choice. Our Eighth Grade students visit many of our area Catholic High Schools as a class. Students and families are supported throughout the high school and scholarship application process.
